VOLUNTEER DOG WALKERS URGENTLY NEEDED

CAN YOU OFFER ANY OF YOUR SPARE TIME FOR WALKING A RESCUE DOG -

About us...

Netherlands Dog Rescue is a rescue charity located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. We know that every week countless local dogs end up homeless. They are taken to the council pound where they have just one week to live, unless they are reclaimed or taken in by a rescue on the eighth day the council can legally put them to sleep, many times simply due to overcrowding. If you lost your dog and it was taken to the pound, don't you wish we were there on the eighth day?

Netherlands Dog Rescue tries to save as many of these homeless local dogs as possible before they are destroyed. We care for the dogs, and rehabilitate them when needed, before finding them new, loving homes. We aim to find a companion matched to you and your lifestyle, we believe that these dogs deserve a second chance to become someone’s best friend again.

The rescue is run by volunteers and we are funded solely by donations, our charity shop and fundraising events such as store collections and local shows. It costs Netherlands Dog Rescue £6.00 a day per dog for basic care which includes its kennel, food and cleaning.  As well as covering this basic care this income means your new companion will be micro-chipped, vaccinated, neutered, flea'd and wormed. It is our belief that we can contribute to reducing the population of unwanted and abandoned dogs by neutering all our dogs before they go to their new home. In addition we also educate the public about responsible dog ownership.
